A grief that is real
Pet Bereavement Therapy
A space to be heard, without having to explain or justify how much it hurts.
Losing a pet can be a profound grief, and one that other people don't always understand. "It's just a dog, you can get another one" is something a lot of people hear, and it can leave you feeling very alone on top of the loss itself.
I started offering pet bereavement support after seeing how hard this hits. One person grieved so deeply for her dog that she stopped going out. Another had been through real financial hardship caring for a poorly pet. And it isn't only cats and dogs. Someone I supported was grieving a parrot she'd grown up with.
Whatever the animal, the bond is real, and so is the grief. This is a space to be heard, without having to explain or justify how much it hurts.
You don't have to explain your grief here. Let's talk, whenever you're ready.
