Who I am

AKA Therapeutix is the private practice of Ali Anderson, an integrative counsellor, EMDR therapist and clinical hypnotherapist based at 24 Shore Road, Skelmorlie, PA17. For any privacy questions, contact me at info@akatherapeutix.com.

What data I collect

• Enquiry form: your name, email, phone number (if provided), the service you are interested in, your preferred mode (in person or online) and your message.
• Technical data: basic, anonymous information about how the site is used, only if you accept optional cookies.
• Client records: if you become a client, clinical notes and records are kept separately and confidentially in line with BACP and professional requirements.

Why I collect it

The information you submit through the enquiry form is used solely to reply to you and to arrange an initial conversation. It is not used for marketing. Clinical records, where they exist, are kept to provide safe, accountable therapy and to meet my professional obligations as a BACP-accredited practitioner.

How it is stored

Enquiry form submissions are sent through a secure third-party service (Formspree) and stored in line with their privacy practices. Clinical records are held confidentially and separately from this website. I do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Confidentiality

Everything you share in counselling, EMDR or hypnotherapy sessions is confidential. There are rare exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality, for example if there is a serious risk of harm. I would discuss this with you first wherever possible.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to request corrections, and in some cases to request erasure. To exercise any of these rights, email info@akatherapeutix.com. If you have a concern about how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
